Tara Roberts Biography:
Tara Roberts was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Life was colorful
growing up and used art as an outlet. She started drawing at an early age
working mostly in pencils, pens and watercolors. Her drawings consist mostly of
fantasy creatures and the human form. After finishing school, she went into
fashion industry as a seamstress and jewelry designer. That is where she
discovered the world of lampworking through a bead show in 2004. She picked up a
Ray Olson sculpted fairy and knew that she wanted to learn the art of
lampworking. She felt this was a wonderful way for her drawings to come to life
3D. She bought a lampworking book, a minor torch, and some soft glass .Once she
turned on the torch for the first time, she knew that she wanted to do this for
the rest of her life. She works both soft and hard glass and says her favorite
torch is still the minor. She has taken classes Milon Townsend and Loren Stump.
She has traveled to the Pacific Northwest and spent a couple of months there to
learn about the glass scene and the art of glassblowing. Currently she focuses
on beads, pendants, sculptures with mixed media in her art and working on a
dream of building a school, gallery and studios on historic wildlife 55 acres.
Her creativity is a blends of moments of her life, all things real, fantastical,
emotional, and spiritual. Her world is filled with magical creatures born from
her imagination. Her drawings have evolved from the paper to glass. She says her
number one tool for lampworking is her sketchbook.

about inquiry
Our mission is
to continue our passion for glass and creating beautiful art. Our goal
is to build our dreams turning our land to build a future
private studio to teach lampworking and glass blowing and to further our
career in glass and fashion design. We also want to pull and make our
own glass colors, experiment with other outlets of glass, and write a
book on our work. We are working on building a studio to continue
our art and to teach fellow glassblowers and lampworkers the art of
glass surrounded by beautiful nature, history, and protected wildlife.
